Applicants under this category are required to meet the applicable financial and investment requirements, including the required investment in Thailand under the LTR Visa programme.
Qualified LTR Visa holders may also have the opportunity to work in Thailand, subject to the applicable requirements.
2. Wealthy Pensioners
The Wealthy Pensioner category is designed for individuals aged 50 years or older who have a stable source of passive income or pension income that meets the requirements of the LTR Visa programme.
This category is suitable for retirees who wish to make Thailand their long-term home while also having the opportunity to work in Thailand, subject to the applicable requirements.
Applicants must meet the relevant financial and income requirements set under the LTR Visa programme.
3. Work-from-Thailand Professionals
The Work-from-Thailand Professional category is intended for professionals working for overseas companies who are able to perform their work remotely while residing in Thailand.
This category provides an option for qualified remote workers who wish to live in Thailand long term while continuing to work for their overseas employer.
Applicants are required to meet the applicable employment, income, employer, and other requirements under the LTR Visa programme.
4. Highly-Skilled Professionals
The Highly-Skilled Professional category is designed for highly skilled professionals and experts working in Thailand in targeted industries under the LTR Visa programme.
Qualified professionals may live and work in Thailand on a long-term basis and may also be eligible for certain personal income tax benefits, subject to the applicable requirements.
Spouses and Dependents
Eligible family members may apply as dependents under the LTR Visa programme.
The number of dependents is limited to a maximum of four dependents per primary LTR Visa applicant.
Eligible dependents include the spouse and children under 20 years of age, subject to the applicable requirements and conditions of the LTR Visa programme.
This allows eligible LTR Visa holders to live in Thailand together with their qualifying family members under the LTR Visa programme.
Key Benefits of the Thailand LTR Visa
The LTR Visa provides a number of benefits to qualified applicants, subject to the relevant category and applicable conditions, including:
- Long-term residence: Permission to reside in Thailand for a period of up to 10 years, subject to the applicable conditions and renewal requirements.
- Annual reporting: The standard 90-day reporting requirement is replaced by annual reporting for eligible LTR Visa holders.
- Multiple re-entry: LTR Visa holders may enter and leave Thailand multiple times without the need to apply for a separate re-entry permit, subject to the applicable immigration requirements.
- Airport Fast Track service: Access to Fast Track services at international airports in Thailand, subject to the availability and applicable procedures.
- Digital Work Permit: Eligible LTR Visa holders who are authorised to work in Thailand may apply for a Digital Work Permit, subject to the relevant employment requirements.
- Potential tax benefits: Certain qualified LTR Visa holders may be eligible for preferential personal income tax treatment, including a 17% personal income tax rate on qualifying employment income and other tax benefits, subject to the applicable tax laws, regulations, and programme conditions.
